When it comes to our scalps the accumulation of DHT is often associated is the main androgen that is the cause of pattern hair loss.

An imbalance of calcification regulators shows that increased DHT androgen receptors and an imbalance of regulators lead to calcification. Androgen receptors are the places inside the cells where androgens and DHT attach themselves by turning on or off, depending on whether androgens are nearby for calcification to occur. An increase in androgens, DHT, and an increase in androgen receptors must occur. Hair loss | Cellustrious® or Spironolactone?

One of the newer drug alternatives for hair loss that is often used for women is Spiralactone. Spiralactone is a caffeine topical, which is made to block androgen receptors so that DHT cannot accumulate in the scalp. While caffeine is topical skin health, which may, in fact, boost the blood flow to the hair follicles, decreased blood flow is often the result of calcification and fibrosis buildup on the scalp.
