One of the newer drug alternatives for hair loss that is often used for women is Spironolactone.
Spironolactone is a caffeine topical, which is made to block androgen receptors so that DHT cannot accumulate in the scalp.
While this might help arrest some hair loss it really doesn’t address pre-existing problems such as calcification of fibrosis and it is not able to reverse the condition.
At Cellustrious®, we have found a different way to approach hair loss. It is non-invasive, and contains no drugs or medications, or painful injections. It is a patent-pending treatment called Cellustrious®, developed by trichologist, author and trainer Misti Barnes, along with a biochemist with a background in hair science (Aveda, L’Oreal) who holds 40 hair related patents. The goal was to try to treat the hair loss by treating fibrosis, as well as a toxicity inflammation, and cell proliferation, cell elongation and cell differentiation, as well as free radicals.
Cellustrious® uses microneedling along with five of the most powerful plant-derived growth factors, peptides, and cytokines, all of which are made of the highest quality ingredients in an FDA-compliant lab.
While caffeine is topical skin health, which may in fact boost the blood flow to the hair follicles, decreased blood flow is often the result of calcification and of fibrosis build up on the scalp. Unless we reverse the scalp fibrosis that have been brought on by other conditions and the triggers the benefits of boosted blood flow are short-lived. We believe that we must target the triggers of hair loss and decreased blood flow is just one of the many causes to the hair follicle being damaged and going into dormancy.
